If you have a DirecTV D10 receiver and are having problems receiving all the channels you are supposed to, try the following steps:
- The receiver will either start in an automated menu mode or it will start up like it is trying to get a signal. If it is in the automated menu, press Select a few times to get 2-3 screens into the menu. Your menu choices don't matter. If you get Searching for Satellite Signal press Exit on the remote.
Press the Menu button
- Press Select to choose Settings
- Press Select to choose Setup
- Press the Down Arrow and Select to choose Satellite
- Press the Down Arrow 3 times and Select to choose Auto Detect
- Do this 3 times: Press the Down Arrow twice and the Select button - this will put 3 dashes in the spaces provided
- Once the Auto-Detect is complete (it will take a few minutes) press the Select button to Continue
- Press the Left Arrow once and the Down Arrow 6 times and press Select for Done
- Press Select 3 times
- Using the Down Arrow and Select enter all 1s or your zip code in the blanks provided
- Press Select multiple times until you get to the signal strength screen.
- Press Select to change from transponder 2 up to 4 or 5, making sure you have a signal on each one
- Press the Down Arrow and press Select to Continue
- When step 8 has finished, press Select to Continue
- When Step 9 has finished, press Select 3 times until you get to the remote setup. You can either set up your remote or continue from there.
